Credits are the unit every plan and pack is denominated in. A check spends credits by length and by which checks you turn on; everything else in the report (fixes, citations, downloads) is included.
What a check costs
A check is counted in started 250-word pages: a 300-word draft is two pages, and a check is never billed for fewer than one page. Each page costs 40 credits for every check, plus the checks you have on:
- Plagiarism: 70 credits per page
- Grammar and spelling: 20 credits per page
- Citations: 10 credits per page
- AI content: 10 credits per page
Clarity and word choice suggestions ride along with grammar and spelling at no extra charge. So a page with everything on is 150 credits, plagiarism alone is 110, plagiarism with AI content is 120, and grammar alone is 60. Turn off what you do not need (the Settings menu beside the check button, or your saved defaults in Settings) and the same credits go further. The composer shows the estimate before you run, and each report shows what it cost. Checking the same text again costs again, so make your edits and then choose Check again once.
Where credits come from
- Plan allowance. Pro Monthly and Pro Annual include 36,000 credits every month (about 60,000 words with every check on, more with fewer); Pro Weekly includes 9,000 every week (about 15,000 words). The allowance refills on your billing date and unused credits do not roll over.
- Top-up packs. Bought once, never expire, and are spent only after the period's allowance is used. See the article on plans, packs and prices.
- The free account keeps your free scan and adds 0 free checks of up to 5,000 words each, every check included. Longer papers and more checks need a plan (the trial covers your first ones).
Seeing your balance
Account → Usage shows the period's allowance, what is left, and the pack balance separately. The dashboard shows the same figure.
Running out
When the allowance is gone, a check tells you before it runs and offers a pack or a plan change. Reports you already made stay open and downloadable.
