Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, and you have a window to change your mind.

How to request deletion

  1. Open Account → Settings and choose Delete account.
  2. Silvertext emails a confirmation code to your account address. Enter it.
  3. The account is locked immediately and scheduled for deletion 30 days later.

Changing your mind

Until the scheduled date you can keep the account: sign in and choose Keep my account on the lock screen, or use the link in the confirmation email. Either one cancels the deletion and unlocks the account with everything intact.

What is deleted

Your reports and their text, uploaded files, settings, profile and sign-in identity. Billing records that the law requires us to keep (invoices, tax records) are retained for the required period without your documents.

Before you delete

  • Cancel any active subscription first, or the deletion will do it for you at the scheduled date.
  • Purchased credits are forfeited with the account.
  • Download any reports you want to keep; there is no recovery after the scheduled date.

Dormant accounts

An account with no sign-in for a year, no active subscription and no credit balance is deleted after two warning emails; signing in resets the clock. Accounts holding purchased credits are never deleted this way.
