Supported languages
We support English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch. Documents mixing these languages are checked sentence by sentence: findings follow the document's language and fixes keep the passage's language.
Other languages
Other languages written with spaces between words may work, but they are outside our supported list and results can be less reliable. This applies to plagiarism checking as well as grammar and style.
Not yet supported
Languages written without spaces between words, such as Chinese, Japanese and Thai, are not supported yet. A document mostly in one of them is refused with a message explaining this limitation.
Tips
- Keep quotations in their original language; the citation keeps the language's quote marks.
- If a check reports the wrong language for a passage, the passage is usually very short or mostly names. Findings on it are safe to ignore.
